Day’s total kms: 13km
Temp: overcast with 12-14C through the day. Blue skies with clouds by evening.
Wind: westerly winds (we’re walking north and northwest) between 30 (11am) and 24km/h, with gusts of 30-40km/h (it’s windy).
10% chance of rain through most of the day. Not much, if any, rain today.
I woke up feeling tired in my body this morning. This is the first time I’ve felt this during this trip. I did my morning exercises though, to get the blood moving, and felt fine. The wind has been tiring, although there were times yesterday when all I could do was laugh at how strong the wind was.
The taxi (Streamline) came to pick up our bags (70£) at 9:30am at the apartment, and the driver will drop them in Largs at our apartment at 5:30pm. We checked out of the flat at the same time. Bye bye.

We took the bus to Ardrossan South Beach (1hr). The busses have been between 3£ & 7.50£ through the trip. The train, about 2x as fast, is the same price, but due to a fire near Ayr station, the smooth, quiet trains have not always been direct, and with a transfer, it seems to take about the same time as the rattling, bumpy busses.

After weaving through Ardrossan’s Harbour area and construction, we made it to a long stretch of beach and promenade.

We went for fish and chips. I had a plate of fries with cheese and coleslaw all over the top. Good thing I’m walking all day.
Three walking days left.
Your dad has probably been on more buses in the last 12 days than he has in the last 50 years! 🤣🤣🤣 I’m impressed with his performance.
