Travel day Trondheim to Oslo

We left Trondheim this morning on the 8:20am train. On arrival in Oslo, we dropped our bags at the hotel and found the starting point of the trail and walked the first four kms. Overall, we walked 11.8km today, but only 4 of the trail, and without our bags. We will begin tomorrow at the Pilgrimessenter, which is at 639km.

Empty streets of Trondheim at 8am on Sunday on the way to the train station.
My bag is bigger than my veteran pilgrim partner’s. Me: 13kg. Chin-Yu: 8kg. What baggage will I let go of along the way?
We took a stroll in Oslo to look for the start of the trail…we saw the ruins of St. Mary’s first, and then we soon found the 643km marker.
No bag!
The starting stone is located in the ruins of St. Hallvard’s.
Cool site: cave-like climbing structure at a playground is Oslo on the first 4 km.
4 km done already!! 😂
We heard singing from St. Olav’s, the Catholic Church, so we went in. We were blessed. Ready to go!
The trail marker. This way!!

  1. So exciting! Thanks for sharing. hopefully you will be done your trek before the heat wave we have hits Norway. Hit 40 yesterday and supposed to be 42 here today – as high as 46 in the Okanogan!
