Day 12: Seamill Hydro to Fairlie

Day’s total km: 13.5km

Aside from one 5 min sprinkle at about 11am today, the day was sunny and warm. The sea breeze was a bit chilly before noon, but oh that sun!

We left the flat at 9:15 for the bus and started walking at 9:50am. The morning walk was beautiful. The walk from the nuclear power station on was not super awesome. It had a Mad Max feel to it actually. The nuclear power plant being decommissioned and the other failed industrial developments on land/water that served the world better as bird and sea life habitats.

The secret path to the trail from the road.
A new adventure begins.
Patterns.
An organically arising installation: Garbage Beast.
This kissing gate was a bit tricky to find from the shore.
Portencross Castle
Two volunteers met us and shared stories about the castle with us.
Thick walls!
The Three Sisters
We stopped for lunch across from Hunterston Castle
Hunterston Castle
Today’s loot! The red was a piece of plastic, but I was so excited when I first saw it!
Largs
Found a unique piece of glass…it’s green. Not sure what it is.

Tomorrow is an easy 6km. We’ll then explore Largs, the town were are staying in, a bit.

    1. Yes, I was thinking that since I’ve been putting it out to Creation that finding one would be super cool! I only recently learned about people finding them. This one seems small but maybe it’s a stunted version.
