Summary: Oppdal to Kastet. 24.8 km (with a small surprise detour to Christine’s cabin!) & 477 m elevation gain. Overcast in the am and then sun, sun, sun! Mostly road today.
7:30 wake
8:00 breakfast

9:00 start walking up a big hill from accommodations, 50 m gain, to meet the trail.

My physical discomfort is mild today. It is in my upper right glut, and curls along the back of and then inside the right hamstring. The ball massager I brought was a good investment of space in my bag (it’s super light) Good for all tight muscles, and for rolling out sore feet too.

My knees feel great. The right one aches when I sit too long and at night if it’s bent in bed, but while walking, it’s great.
I’ve been listening to a new audio for healing my knees while I fall asleep. I listened to the neck healing audio following my discectomy surgery a few years ago. I think they work.

I walked alone today. I loved the pace and space of it. The weather was perfect.

At 6.1 km, I saw a beautiful, large, flat white rock for a first break. But it was along the road with not much of a view so I continued and called in a more inspiring spot. And guess what?!! Maybe 15 minutes later, Christine , a friend/colleague, drove by in her car on her way from her cabin down the road, to get something in Oppdal. She stopped, I had a little scream because I had been affirming that “I am wide open and receptive to the vast abundance and magic of the Universe,” and she invited me to her cabin for lunch! Powerful!

I kept walking to Christine’s cabin while she went to Oppdal, and she arrived shortly after I got there. While I waited briefly for her, I met her partner, Stig, who was working on a deck project. He built the cabin himself (with Christine). Wow! It’s a beautiful cabin. Christine had invited me there to ski during my first winter in Trondheim, and it’s just as awesome in summer as in winter.
Before I saw her, I was reflecting on how one can know if they’re on the right path…when beautiful synchronicities like today happen, I know I’m on the right path.

Generous Christine cooked me a delicious salad and veggie burger and offered me a delicious, cold Italian beer. Such a great surprise. My St. Olav’s miracle of the day, for sure!

I felt full of great food and the magic of the Universe for the next 8 km, and at 16.8 km, I found a big rock to sit on for a break. While sitting there, I met a group of five Norwegians and spoke to them på norsk. They were very patient with me and I felt a little proud that I embarrassed myself. They will also arrive in Trondheim on the 29th for the celebrations.

Later, I sang a made-up song to manifest a little bench to sit upon and rest my feet and I got one at 21.7 km.

I arrived at the overnight accommodations at about 5:30 pm. 24.8 km of gorgeous weather again.

The building is an old school that has been/is being renovated into a guest house. The rooms are spacious, light and clean, with both a shower and a toilet with their own doors in each room! It would be a lovely spot for a writers’ or other retreat.

We had a lovely simple and delicious meal, topped off with ice cream. The hosts are a Dutch couple and very accommodating. They even did our laundry and will return it in the morning!

Tomorrow, we will hit the 101 km milestone! Holy! It is 27km tomorrow. I think I’m ready.
Thank you for this day!
