July 12. Day 15 Walking.

27.5 km, 361 floors (1083 m).

7:30 breakfast

8:30 start walking

Cool morning with clear sky and sun.

A detour due to construction started the day.

Cool spider with unique texture.
Another art installation. Falkesteinen by Ånond Versto.
The view of the falcon.
Klokkeporten by Ånond Versto.
Hovudet by Ånond Versto.
In 1763, a woman who committed infanticide, was executed here.

8.5 km We visited a stavkirke. The smell of the wood in the sun was amazing!! The door to the church was incredible!

Around the door

10 km noon

12 km Ringebu. I sent more stuff home including guide’s tarp, foldable bucket, bowl, spices & oil, coffee filter, swim suit bottoms. Nice-to-haves are heavy-to-carries.

14.5 km needing a break and feeling it. We conjured up a bench to sit down on and relax.

This bench was safe but we later met a bench protected by very angry bees or wasps. We were both stung!

Smells of a hot summer day wafted by from time to time.

This canyon reminded me a lot of Maligne for its formations.
Old mill stones.

We had a beer at the Pilgrim Senter before walking the last few kms to our destination.

Approaching the farm
Woof woof!

Dinner was right away so I went all stinky. The benches were too high and my tired legs didn’t get a rest until I crawled into bed.

There are newer rooms but we are in the pilgrim’s cabin, an original building apparently built 700 years ago.

The following, about our accommodations, is from pilegrimsleden.no:

“Sygard Grytting is an old farm estate, today functioning as a hotel. Coal pits, rich grave findings dating back to the 4th century, and Viking burial grounds suggests early settlement and powerful families living in the area. Today’s owner Stig Grytting is the 16th generation running the farm. It has been the Grytting’s property at least since 1534, but most likely longer and probably as far back as the 14th century.”

I’m super tired today.

Thank you for this day!
