July 8. Day 11 Walking.

25.1 km by my phone (27km by guidebook), 912m elevation gain.

Finally got-up at 6:45am after disrupted sleep beginning at 1am. Weird and unsettling dreams plus leg muscle pains waking me all night/morning. The Norwegian summer light makes it difficult to tell the time without looking at the phone clock. My legs feel okay now. Maybe the pain is them healing up? They could use a day of rest. July 30, they shall rest!

8:30 left the accomm. and a quick stop for lunch food and blister dressings.

Have a good trip!

9:14am Milestone 424km til Nidaros (the big cathedral in Trondheim)

9:50 light drizzle

Lots of mossies and flies today. Annoying.

10:46 6.5km end of wet forest/farm/hill trail. Walked over 11,000 steps. I usually do 7.5km in 10,000. We took a lot of steps in there!

7.1 km break. Blister has migrated to my right foot now. Same toe. How is this possible after 11 days? My feet are wet today. I just changed socks and doctored my toes.

Louise Hay proposes that blisters are “resistance. Lack of emotional protection.” I gently flow with Life and each new experience. All is well. I thought I was in flow but I likely have more flowing to do. My knee started hurting at the break too. Took two Advil, the first pain killers/anti inflammatory in two days. I suppose that is resistance? Resistance to pain and to what is.

Toes: “represent the minor details of the future.”

Cramps: “tension, fear, gripping, holding on.” I relax and allow my mind to be peaceful.

Feet: “represent our understanding – of ourselves, of life, of others.”

Knee problems: “stubborn ego and pride. Inability to bend. Inflexibility. Won’t give in.” Forgiveness. Understanding. Compassion. I bend, flow with ease & all is well.

Hmmm. Any connections?!

11:35 am, 8.2 km, little break. Has stopped raining.

I’m curious about this fish on so many barn doors

I can slow down.

10km noon

Walk through wet farm and forest again. Feet are soaked. Again.

I passed my Math test today.

If you zoom in you can see how step and long this trail is (posts all the way up)
Chin-Yu captured my struggle. It was real.

15km break. Put on 3rd pair of dry socks

16km stopped for a popsicle in Vingrom

16:00, 19.8 km Church break

17:30 crossing the bridge to Lillehammer

Fix my feet…again. Photo credits: Chin-Yu
Bike, scooter and tractor traffic

17:50 arrival at Lillehammer Kirke

According to today’s milestones, we only walked 7km?! We know this one is right…417km to Trondheim. About 1/3 there!

18:15 arrival at the hostel and dinner in the café. Laundry and nurse my wounds. My legs are sore and I’m tired. A good night’s sleep will revive me.

Thank you.
